It is especially important for increasing of the average speed and when moving empty consists. Nowadays, a very low speed of rolling stock is one of the factors effecting revenues. A hidden but more dangerous factor is low safety of freight trains. Friction dampers that are widely used in trucks of freight trains do not operate when a car is empty. At the same time, when a car is completely loaded, its power characteristics are not enough. This is often a cause of emergencies, including of those with serious economic and ecological consequences, that may occur during transportation of petroleum and chemical products.

Multimode hydraulic dampers can contribute much to safe and careful freight transportation, as well as increase an average speed of both empty and loaded trains.
